The Matagami ECOlodge is a recreational tourism complex built according to the highest environmental standards, offering its guests a comfortable and high quality infrastructure. It was designed so that you can experience a unique adventure in a pristine and wild environment.
You will be filled with a feeling of satisfaction from the moment you arrive at the Matagami ECOlodge by hydroplane or helicopter and discover our three ECOlodges, which have all been designed for two guests, but can accommodate four. Each ECOlodge has private access to a natural beach of fine sand.
There are several pedestrian trails which can give you the feeling of being the first person to have set foot there. These trails are also suitable for mountain biking. For your comfort, the Matagami ECOlodge has also built over two kilometers of trails with wooden footbridges.
Many charted sites can be explored by sea kayak. The Matagami ECOlodge has a Zodiac, the perfect craft for group exploration of the many bays, isolated islands and sandy beaches, or safe navigation of the raging waters of the Waswanipi River.
In winter, the Matagami ECOlodge’s network of trails and the Matagami Lake provide excellent conditions for snowshoe hikes and backcountry skiing. The Matagami ECOlodge also has snowmobiles allowing you to explore remote spots that cannot be reached in any other way due to the lack of roads and very heavy snowfall.
A typical day at the Matagami ECOlodge consists of an exquisite mix of pleasure, relaxation, physical activity, and adventure. Guests discover it at their own pace according to their ability and their wishes. You can take part in group activities or go off and explore the area alone, unless your ECOlodge’s cozy bed and natural fiber comforter seem more attractive after having taken a dip in the lake, or experienced your ECOlodge’s private, exclusive Nordic spa.
You can come refuel your energy around a convivial table offered in the Matagami ECOlodge’s main yurt. Eating well, sleeping well and taking full advantage of the open air activities will give you a deep feeling of well-being and make you forget the vagaries of civilization and the stress of modern life.
